"An Anti-Social Pessimist"

"An Anti-Social Pessimist"

So recently, I've been putting the song "Here" by Alessia Cara on repeat. Well I might be too late to be hyped about this song because it was posted on Youtube last year on May 26. I did listen to this song on radio and there are some Viners who did a video using this song as the background music but I didn't realize that the lyrics is so relatable for an introvert like me and it didn't really persuade me to listen to it again. I'm so MAD at myself.

The Singer Background (Alessia Cara)

First of all, let me introduce her briefly. Alessia Cara is a 20 years old singer and song writer. The soulfull singer was born on July 11, 1996 (a year older than me T.T). She's from Brampton, Canada. Alessia Cara or her real name Alessia Caracciolo released her debut single "Here" through Def Jam. Her songs genre are R&B, Alternative R&B and pop. Her first televised-debut was on the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (checkout their Youtube channel). On March 7, 2016, she was awarded as Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2016 Juno Awards. Get to know more about Alessia Cara here (highly recommended) or at wikipedia.

"Here" by Alessia Cara

So the song "Here" is basically about people who feels uncomfortable in parties or crowded places. "Here” is unapologetically autobiographical: “‘Here’ is a true story,” Alessia confesses “It’s a party song, but really it’s the complete opposite of a party song. It’s absolutely me; it shouts out the person in the corner of the party, looking around uncomfortably. I feel like this song narrates what the wallflower is thinking.”_ Taken from www.alessiacara.

I personally love and understand the lyrics. It describes how I feel in crowded places perfectly. Surrounded by strangers whom I don't feel like interacting to, I usually hide at a corner where no one will notice me. The lyric "I ask myself, what am I doing here" is 100% relatable cause I constantly ask myself questions like that. As an introverted human being, I can say that I find my source of peace in a quite surrounding. As the lyrics describe that she rather spend time with close friends and talk about their future, I feel the same. The phrase "the more, the merrier" can’t be apply to my life style. I'm sure my introvert readers feel the same way.  I put the lyrics under this paragraph so you guys can practice before singing this song in the shower later. You can download this song here. Checkout the music video herewww.youtube.com. Be sure to visit Alessia Cara official website as it contains many information about her such as her twitter account, Spotify account and upcoming songs.

Lyrics
"Here"
(I guess right now you've got the last laugh)

I'm sorry if I seem uninterested
Or I'm not listenin' or I'm indifferent
Truly, I ain't got no business here
But since my friends are here
I just came to kick it but really
I would rather be at home all by myself not in this room
With people who don't even care about my well-being
I don't dance, don't ask, I don't need a boyfriend
So you can go back, please enjoy your party
I'll be here, somewhere in the corner under clouds of marijuana
With this boy who's hollering I can hardly hear
Over this music I don't listen to and I don't wanna get with you
So tell my friends that I'll be over here

Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here oh oh oh
I ask myself what am I doing here?
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here
And I can't wait till we can break up outta here

Excuse me if I seem a little unimpressed with this
An anti-social pessimist but usually I don't mess with this
And I know you mean only the best and
Your intentions aren't to bother me
But honestly I'd rather be
Somewhere with my people we can kick it and just listen
To some music with the message (like we usually do)
And we'll discuss our big dreams
How we plan to take over the planet
So pardon my manners, I hope you'll understand it
That I'll be here
Not there in the kitchen with the girl
Who's always gossiping about her friends
So tell them I'll be here
Right next to the boy who's throwing up 'cause
He can't take what's in his cup no more
Oh God why am I here?

Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here oh oh oh
I ask myself what am I doing here?
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here
And I can't wait till we can break up outta here

Hours later congregating next to the refrigerator
Some girl's talking 'bout her haters
She ain't got none
How did it ever come to this
I shoulda never come to this
So holla at me I'll be in the car when you're done
I'm standoffish, don't want what you're offering
And I'm done talking
Awfully sad it had to be that way
So tell my people when they're ready that I'm ready
And I'm standing by the TV with my beanie low
Yo I'll be over here

Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here oh oh oh
I ask myself what am I doing here?
Oh oh oh here oh oh oh here
And I can't wait till we can break up outta here

Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh

I think that is all from me guys, thanks for visiting my blog. I'm quite nervous as this is my first post. I'm sorry for the bad English. Be sure to share and follow me on google+.

P/S, can you guys guess which singer I'm going to write about on my next post ......
